Statement 1 is correct : A motion for removal of a judge can be initiated in either House of the parliament. The removal motion is signed by 100 members (in case of Lok Sabha) or 50 members (in the case of Rajya Sabha) and given to the speaker /Chairman which may refuse to admit the motion.
Statement 2 is correct : An impeachment motion for the removal of a judge of SC ,does not lapse on dissolution of the Lok Sabha.
