Context: There seems to be a clear trend emerging of non-BJP ruled states taking on either the Centre directly or a constitutional appointee of the Centre in the state.

• We've witnessed the bitter war of words between the Chief Minister of West Bengal and the Governor of the State. 
• Elsewhere, in Tamil Nadu - the state government and the Governor have been at loggerheads over the NEET Bill. 
• And the most recent controversy has been in the state of Telangana where the CM didn't follow protocol, citing illness during the Prime Minister's non-political visit to the state's capital - Hyderabad. 
• In the past too we've witnessed such incidents in opposition-ruled Delhi and Punjab.
