First statement is incorrect. Southern slopes of Himalayan region covered with thicker vegetation as compared to Northern slope. The growth of vegetation depends upon the amount sunlight and rainfall received. The southern slopes of the Himalayas receive more sunlight and also more rain due to the south west monsoon winds which travel west along the southern slops. The northern slopes do not receive any such rainfall. So the southern slopes are covered with thick vegetation as compared to the northern slopes. Second statement is incorrect. Tropical montane evergreen forests or Temperate forests are known as shola forest that occurs in the higher elevations of the Western Ghats and its associated hill range in southern India. It is discrete and patchy, usually confined to sheltered valleys, hollows and depressions and is surrounded by grasslands. Third statement is correct. Deodar forests are forests dominated Cedrus Deodara and are found in Western Himalayas from Gandak river in central Nepal to Hindukush in Afghanistan.
