First statement is correct. The main cause of the Chola- Chalukya conflict was Chalukyas of Vengi, their series of matrimonial alliances with the Cholas, and the desire on both to control Vengi. Second and Third statement are incorrect. Chalukyas concentrated on inland trade; hence they didn't fought battles to capture trade with China and South eastern Asia. Fourth statement is incorrect. Chola with his naval forces, he invaded Malaya Peninsula and Srivijaya Empire that extended over Sumatra, Java and the neighbouring islands and controlled the overseas trade route to China. He sent two diplomatic missions to China for political as well as commercial purposes.
