Nasikabatrachus bhupathi is a new species of frog with pig face discovered by Indian scientists in Western Ghats. It is named after Indian herpetologist S. Bhupathy. It show comparisons with the purple frog – Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis – discovered in Seychelles in 2003. This comparison shows evidences in favour of the Continental Drift theory and provide indication that 65 million years ago Indian subcontinent was part of ancient landmass of Gondwanaland.
