The term ‘tax terrorism’ was first used by the current Prime Minister to describe the adversarial approach adopted by tax authorities under the UPA. "Tax terrorism" refers to the adversial approach of tax administration.

This is a situation where the taxman uses his powers to extract more than what is due from an honest taxpayer.
