The Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR) at the all India level based on usual principal status approach was estimated at 50.3 per cent. The All India LFPR of females is much lower than that for males. There are wide interstate variations in
the female LFPR as well. The North Eastern and Southern States, in general, display high female LFPR as compared to low levels in Northern States. As per EUS, 2015-16, the unemployment rate for females was higher than that of males across rural and urban areas
