The National Policy for Children2}l3 was adopted by the Government of India on26th April 2013. It adheres to the Constitutional mandate and guiding principles of UN CRC and identifies rights of children under 4 key priority areas, namely, Survival, Health and Nutrition; Education and Development, Protection and Participation. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India has recently drafted the National Plan of Action for Children 2016, which provides a roadmap that links the Policy objectives to actionable strategies under the 4 key priority areas. It aims at establishing effective coordination and convergence among all stakeholders, including Ministries and Departments of Government of India and civil society organisations to address key issues pertaining to rights of children.
