Deodar is found mainly in the Western Himalayas and not in the Eastern Himalayas. Cedrus deodara is a species of cedar native to the western Himalayas in eastern Afghanistan, northern Pakistan and India, southwesternmost Tibet and western Nepal, occurring at 1,500–3,200 m altitude. An oak is a tree or shrub in the genus Quercus of the beech family, Fagaceae. There are approximately 600 extant species of oaks. Rhododendron is a genus of 1,024 species of woody plants in the heath family (Ericaceae), either evergreen or deciduous, and found mainly in Asia, although it is also widespread throughout the highlands of the Appalachian Mountains of North America. It is the national flower of Nepal.
