Context: The Central government will set up One Stop Centres (OSCs) across 10 missions to provide assistance to Indian women who are survivors of gender-based violence. 
Key Points

• In a pursuit to tackle cases of violence against women, the Government of India will be opening one-stop centres in 10 missions across nine countries. 
• The first 10 OSCs will be introduced in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
• Operated by: These centres will be supported by the Women and Child Development Ministry and operated by the External Affairs Ministry.
• Existing OSCs: As per government, over three lakh women were provided assistance through 701 One Stop Centres (OSCs) in 35 states and union territories since its inception.

About One Stop Centre Scheme

• This centrally sponsored scheme, funded through Nirbhaya Fund, launched in 2015 by Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) to address the problem of violence against women. 
• Scheme was launched under umbrella scheme “National Mission for Empowerment of Women” and “Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahyog Yojana”. 
• These centres help in providing an integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence in private as well as public spaces.
