Statement 1- Geysers and hot springs are found in volcanic regions. Here the underground water is heated by the interior heat of the earth and it rises to surface either as a geyser or spring. Generally, it is the gases seeping out of heated rocks that trigger explosive geysers.
Statement 2- As the river descends steep slopes, under the influence of gravity, the downward cutting dominates in the upper course. In the middle course as the velocity of flow is reduced, there is more of lateral cutting of banks than vertical corrosion.
