‘Priority Pathogens’ are anti-biotic resistant super-bugs which are named as priority pathogens by World Health Organisation. WHO has classified 12 pathogens as priority pathogens and divided them into 3 categories: critical, high and medium. High and medium priority categories include pathogens causing more common diseases such as gonorrhoea and salmonella-induced food poisoning. The critical category consist of bacterium from 3 families that are resistant to carbapenem antibiotics – antibiotics of last-resort.
