Which of the following is incorrect regarding the newly proposed National Investment and Manufacturing Zones in the New manufacturing Policy,2011?
The trunk infrastructure will be financed appropriately by Central Government while Special Purpose Vehicle will develop the zone infrastructure in PPP mode.
These Industrial Townships are proposed to be self-governing and Autonomous Bodies.
NIMZ can be proposed with land area of at least 5000 hectares.
These are Greenfield or Brownfield integrated Industrial Townships
The Government of India has announced a National Manufacturing Policy 2011 with the objective of enhancing the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25% within a decade and creating 100 million jobs. The National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZ) are an important instrumentality of the manufacturing policy.
The Central Government will create the enabling policy framework, provide incentives for infrastructure development on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis through appropriate financing instruments, and State Governments will be encouraged to adopt the instrumentalities provided in the policy
The NIMZs are envisaged as integrated industrial townships with state-of-the-art infrastructure; land use on the basis of zoning; clean and energy-efficient technology; necessary social infrastructure; skill development facilities etc. to provide a productive environment for persons transitioning from the primary to the secondary and tertiary sectors.
One of the key instruments to catalyse the growth of manufacturing is through the establishment of National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZs) which are to be developed in the nature of greenfield industrial townships, benchmarked with the best manufacturing hubs in the world. Wherever an industrial park comes within an NIMZ, it would get all benefits applicable to NIMZ as enunciated in the National Manufacturing Policy.
