In which of the following temple making styles multiple shrines grouped around a central pillared hall and laid out in trhe shape of an intricately designed star?
Odisha Art
Pallava Art
Hoysala Art
Rashtrakuta Art
The temples built in the 12-13th centuries under the patronage of the Hoysalas of Mysore.
Hoysalas innovated new type of temple architecture in which central pillared hall was placed between multiple shrines (in the shape of intricately designed star).
A good example of this style is the Kesava Temple at Somanathapura. The jagati which is in unity with the rest of the temple follows a star-shaped design and the walls of the temple follow a zig-zag pattern, a Hoysala innovation.
