Which planet can never be seen on the meridian at midnight?
Jupiter
Mercury
Saturn
Mars
: A planet is seen best at its greatest elongation. The orbits of the inferior planets restrict the greater elongations. They are seen as morning objects at western elongation or elevating objects at eastern elongation but never seen as midnight object. Superior planets can be in any right ascension so they can appear anytime in night even at midnight.
