As part of Digital India Programme, a Project Development Fund (PDF) funded by World Bank has been established under the National e-Governance Division, Deity to provide financial assistance to the Centre/State/UTs for formulation and conceptualization of new and innovative e-Governance initiatives associated with Mission Mode Projects (MMPs), areas other than existing MMPs, Pilot or prototype projects for e-Governance and Innovative projects. Administrative approval was provided for release of Rs 5 Crores towards Grant- in –Aid to National e-Governance Division under Media Lab Asia for establishment of PDF for the financial year 2014-15

The PDF is available for the following activities-

Consulting fee for technical and financial feasibility studies
DPR preparation for new projects
Out of pocket expenses for requirement gathering e.g workshops, field visits etc
Any other assistance for developing projects

Many proposals were received by NeGD pursuant to the letters sent by NeGD to all Secretaries of Central Ministries /Departments and all IT Secretaries of State/UT Governments inviting project proposals. Out of the projects received, the following 14 projects were funded in the financial year 2015-2016
