1. Bhavai is a popular form of folk theatre of western India, especially Gujarat. It is as much a dramatic form of entertainment as it is a kind of ritual offering made to the Hindu goddess Amba.
2. Therukoothu is a folk theatre performed in the open during temple festivals of Rain goddess Mariyamman and Draupathyamman in villages of Tamilnadu especially North Arcot, South Arcot and Thanjavur Districts.
3. Tamasha is a form of Marathi theatre that is accompanied by a lot of singing and dancing. The word has its origins in the Persian language where it means a show or a theatrical performance.
4. Yakshagana is a traditional theatre form mainly found in the coastal districts and the Malenadu region of Karnataka, India.
