As per the information available up to my last update in January 2022, SEBI increased the eligibility period for start-ups to receive investments from angel investors from three years to five years. Please verify the latest information as regulations may change.
The limit of investment has been brought down to Rupees 25 lakhs from earlier 50 lakh rupees: This statement is correct. SEBI reduced the minimum investment amount by angel investors in start-ups from INR 50 lakhs to INR 25 lakhs to make it more accessible for investors.
Angel Investors are part of Alternative Investment Fund: This statement is correct. Angel Investors often invest through Angel Funds, which are a type of Alternative Investment Fund (AIF). Angel Funds pool investments from multiple investors to invest in start-ups and early-stage businesses.
