Which of the following statements is/are correct with regard to mobile touch screen technologies?
1. When a user touches a capacitive touch screen some charge is transferred to the user from the screen.
2. Capacitive touch screen technology has lesser life span than a resistive touch screen technology.
3. Capacitive screens provide clearer image than resistive screens.
Codes:
1, 2 and 3
1 only.
1 & 3 only
2 & 3 only
2nd statement is incorrect because capacitive touch screen technology has more life span than a resistive touch screen technology. A resistive screen consists of a number of layers. When the screen is pressed, the outer later is pushed onto the next layer — the technology senses that pressure is being applied and registers input. Resistive touchscreens are versatile as they can be operated with a finger, a fingernail, a stylus or any other object. A capacitive touchscreen also consists of two spaced layers of glass, which are coated with conductor such as Indium Tin Oxide (ITO). Human body is an electrical charge conductor. When a finger touches the glass of the capacitive surface, it changes the local electrostatic field.
