A person convicted of an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 for not less than 2 years shall be disqualified for being chosen as and for being a member of Parliament and of the Legislature of a State:

For a period of six years from the date of his release

For a period of six years from the date of his conviction

From the date of such conviction and for a further period of six years since his release

For a period determined by the Court

The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (No. 49 of 1988) is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted to combat corruption in government agencies and public sector businesses in India.
