Consider the following Statements regarding third Anglo – Mysore war :

Statement 1 is incorrect as first Anglo- Mysore war was fought between 1790 to 1792 and ended with the treaty of Seringpatnam. Statement 2 is correct . Statement 3 is also correct : Tipu declared war on Travancore in 1789. Travancore was a friendly state of the British. In 1790, the Governor-General of Bengal, Lord Cornwallis declared war on Tipu. Tipu was defeated in the first phase of the war and his forces had to retreat. Later the English advanced towards Tipu’s capital of Seringapatam and Tipu had to bargain for peace.
