Consider the following statements about Tipu Sultan :
1. Tipu assumed the title of Padshah in 1787.

Statement 1 is correct ,while Haider Ali had maintained the fiction of Sovereignty of the Wodeyar dynasty till he lived ,Tipu assumed the title of Padshah( Sovereign title of Persian origin) in 1787.
Statement 2 is correct , Tipu actively supported the proposal of the French soldiers at Seringpatnam to set up a Jacobin club in 1797 and ordered a salute of 2300 cannons and 500 rockets to celebrate the occasion .He is also reported to have planted the Tree of liberty at seringpatnam ,He himself enrolled as a member of Jacobin club and allowed himself to be called citizen Tipu.
Statement 3 is incorrect as there was no office of the Wazir or Prime minister in Tipu’s administration. The seven principal departments each under a Mir Asif was directly responsible to the Sultan.
Note - Jacobin Club, byname Jacobins, the most famous political group of the French Revolution, which became identified with extreme egalitarianism and violence and which led the Revolutionary government from mid-1793 to mid-1794.
