An Amendment to the Indian Constitution becomes applicable to the State of Jammu & Kashmir

only after it is assented to by the Governor of J&K.

only after it is given clearance by the State Cabinet

three months after it enters into force

The Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir came into effect on 26 January 1957.
It basically defines the framework for the government of Jammu and Kashmir. Article 370 gave J&K a special status in the country, and article 35A empowered J&K to determine who is a 'permanent resident' of the state.
