The Ministry of Minority Affairs has observed in the Parliament that the constitution has not defined the word "minorities". Consider the following statements:
1. The Constitution has used the word 'minorities' in articles 29 to 30 and 350A to 350 B.
2. As per article 29, any section of citizens having a distinct language script and culture (which could be either an entire community or a group) is perceived to be a minority within a majority community
