The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), India is a quasi-judicial commission in India which was set up in 1988 under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986. Hence statement 1 is correct. Its head office is in New Delhi. The commission is headed by a sitting or retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. Hence statement 2 is wrong. The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India along with National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) jointly organized a Conference at VigyanBhawan New Delhi recently to review the functioning of the State Commissions and District Fora.
