Article 30 of the Indian Constitution mandates that all minorities, whether based on religion or language, shall have the right to establish and administer educational institutions of their choice.
PMs15 Point Programme is a programme to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes reach the disadvantaged sections of the minority communities. It provides that, wherever possible, 15% of targets under various schemes should be set aside for the minorities.
Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992.
