Strait of Hormuz is a strait between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It provides the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean and is one of the world's most strategically important choke points. Kedah served as a western port on the Malay Peninsula. Strait of Gibraltar is a narrow strait that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea and separates Gibraltar and Peninsular Spain in Europe from Morocco in Africa. Bering Strait is about 82 kilometres wide at its narrowest point, between Cape Dezhnev, Chungu Peninsula, Russia, the easternmost point of the Asian continent and Cape Prince of Wales, Alaska, United States, the westernmost point of the North American continent.
