There have been various instance reporting violence against healthcare professionals and damage caused to property of clinical establishments. Even though the Indian Penal Code includes penalties for causing harm to an individual or causing destruction of any property, violence targeting healthcare professionals has resulted in hindrance to healthcare services in the country. For this reason, the draft Bill has been brought in to provide stricter penalties for inciting violence against healthcare professionals or causing damage to clinical establishments.
