The Niti Aayog and the Ministry of HRD released the school education quality index, evaluating the performance of states and Union Territories in the school education sector.To facilitate like-to-like comparisons, states and UTs were grouped into large states, small states and UTs.In the large states category, Kerala emerged as the top performer among 20 states, followed by Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Assam.
