Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the world's largest masonary dam built across Krishna River in Nagarjuna Sagar, Nalgonda Districtof Telangana. Krishna Raja Sagar Dam is across Cauvery River, in Mandya in Karnataka state, India. It is the main source of water for the districts of Mysore. Jayakwadi Dam is located on Godavari river at the site of Jayakwadi village in Paithan taluka of Aurangabad district in Maharashtra State of India. The water is mainly used to irrigate agricultural land in the drought-prone Marathwada Region region of the state. Hirakud Dam is built across the Mahanadi River, Sambalpur District in the state of Odisha in India. The dam helps control floods in the Mahanadi delta and irrigates 75,000 km2 of land.
