Kaveri (also known as Cauvery) is an Indian river flowing through the states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu. The river rises in western Maharashtra state in the Western Ghats range near the town of Mahabaleshwar, not far from the coast of the Arabian Sea. Subarnarekha River flows through the Indian states of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha. It originates from the chhota nagpur plateau.
