Damodar Chapekar
Damodar Chapekar was born to a Hindu Brahmin family on 24 June, 1869 at Poona (Maharastra). He was well educated and took an active part in political activities. He organized a society for promoting physical culture and imparting military training to patriotic youths, so that they can over throw British rule. Along with his two brothers ( Basudeo and Balkrishna), he made a plan to kill Mr. Rand, the British Plague Commissioner of Poona. Later he was arrested and hanged on 18 April, 1898.
