• The state government of Haryana has announced ambitious plans to develop the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, themed around the epic Mahabharata. This visionary project is set to transform the site into a world-class tourist destination, attracting visitors from near and far with its cultural and historical significance.

Tourist destination enhancement:

• According to the concerned officials, the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra aims to elevate Geeta Sthali Jyotisar in Kurukshetra district, into a globally renowned tourist destination. As per the plans envisaged by the state government in this regard, it has been envisioned as a center of cultural enrichment, offering visitors an immersive experience into the rich narrative of the Mahabharata.
• The Haryana state government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 205 crore for the development of this project. A significant portion of this budget, amounting to Rs 30 crore, has already been utilized, with additional funding from the Government of India contributing Rs 29 crore towards the construction efforts.
• The proposed infrastructure of the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra includes two main blocks: Block A will feature depictions of Mahabharata characters and essential amenities such as ticket counters and audio guides, while Block B will showcase pivotal events from the epic, including Draupadi Cheer Haran and Lakshya Griha.
