Kangra painting is the pictorial art of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Kangra painting evolved as a unique form of art under the reign of the rulers of the former princely state, Kangra. But Without Government patronage, this unique art is getting unpopular slowly and its almost dying. To make the art popular again, Kangra Arts Promotion Society has experimented in producing a commerial form of Kangra art that could help sustain artists. They have decided to adorn sarees with Kangra painting.
