The Fundamental Duties are defined as the moral obligations of all citizens to help promote a spirit of patriotism and to uphold the unity of India. These fundamental Duties were introduced in the Indian Constitution by the 42nd Amendment Act 1976- Article 51A, upon the recommendations of the Swarn Singh Committee.
