He is known to establish four new towns, Firuzabad, Fatebabad, Jaunpur and Hissar. He was the one who started Imposition of Jaziya on the Brahmans. He established several hospitals portrayed differently as Darul-Shifa, Bimaristan or Shifa Khana, in Delhi.
