Hence, salt production is high. The main sources of salt in India are sea brine, lake brine, sub-soil brine and rock salt deposits. Sea water is an inexhaustible source of salt. Gujarat is blessed with the longest coastline of 1600 km. in India, offering important resources such as salt and marine products for industry. Close to 60% of this is produced in Little Rann of Kutch. Little Rann of Kutch is a 5183 sq.km land mass having dual characteristics of saline desert and wetland.
