NAFCC was in news recently as Environment Ministry has approved projects in 3 states – Sikkim, Rajasthan, Gujarat – under NAFCC.

• NAFCC is the flagship scheme of the Union Government launched in 2015 to provide 100% central grant to the states for implementing climate change adaptation projects.
• The scheme has been designed to fulfil the objectives of National Action Plan on Climate Change and operationalise State Action Plan on Climate Change.
• The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is the National Implementing Entity (NIE) responsible for implementation of adaptation projects under the NAFCC.
