The Union Government has launched National Biopharma Mission. It intends to increase India’s competitiveness and face stiff competition from China, Korea and other countries besides increasing Indian share in global pharma market from present 2.8% to 5.0%.

• The policy intends to achieve above goals through a programme: i3 – Innovate in India.
• The policy and the programme will be implemented by BIRAC – Biotechnology Industry Research Assitance Council – a PSU of Biotechnology department.
