Kalraj Mishra

A Former minister in the Narendra Modi government, Kalraj Mishra, replaced former Uttarakhand chief minister Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri as the chairman of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. There are 24 parliamentary standing committees, of these 16 are under the administrative control of the Lok Sabha and eight under the Rajya Sabha.

Maldivian presidential challenger Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has beaten incumbent Abdulla Yameen. Results released by the Elections Commission showed Solih had secured 58.3 percent of the popular vote as opposed to the incumbent, President Yameen, who garnered less than 42 percent of the votes
