Surya Kiran is a bilateral military exercise between India and Nepal.

• This year it was the thirteenth edition of the exercise which was concluded in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand.
• The exercise will further enhance and strengthen level of defence cooperation between the two neighbours.
• Surya Kiran is a biannual exercise and is held after every 6 months alternately in India and Nepal.

It is largest exercise in terms of troops’ participation in series of military training exercises undertaken by India with other countries.
