• February 28 every year is recognized as National Science Day.
• The theme for this year’s science day was ‘Science and Technology for a sustainable future’.

The day is observed to mark the discovery of Raman effect by Physicist CV Raman on 28th February 1928 for which he received Nobel Prize in the year 1930. The national science day was instituted in 1986 with first National Science Day being observed on February 28, 1987.
