Dr. Gurcharan Singh Kalkat: Dr. Gurcharan Singh Kalkat was a noted agricultural scientist and pioneer of India’s Green Revolution who passed away this week in Chandigarh at the age of 92. Besides his role in Green Revolution he also led to some exemplary agricultural reforms in Punjab. He has been awarded Padma Shree and Padma Bhushan for his contribution.
