Kumbh Mela has been included in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List: Kumbh Mela from India has become the 14th intangible cultural heritage from India on the list of Intangible Heritage issued by UNESCO. Kumbh Mela is held every 4 times every 12 years at four different locations across central and northern India. It is the largest religious congregation and largest peaceful gathering on the planet. Earliest mention of Kumbh Mela is mentioned in Bhagwat Purana. The works of Huen Tsang also include a mention of Kumbh Mela. The Kumbh mela is held every third year at one of the four places by rotation: Haridwar, Allahabad, Nashik and Ujjain. Next in sanctity is ardha kumbh mela which is held only in Haridwar and Allahabad. The rivers involved at each of the location are: Ganga at Haridwar, Prayag Sangam at Allahabad, Godawari at Nashik and Shipra at Ujjain. Vyas Samman: Vyas Samman award was instituted by KK Birla foundation in 1991. It is awarded annually to outstanding literary work in Hindi authored and published in last 10 years by an Indian citizen. The award carries monetary award of Rs. 3.5 lakhs and a citation and a plaque. Adivasi Mahotsav 2017: Tribal Festival – Adivasi Mahotsav 2017 – was held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The festival intends to bring out rich and diverse tribal traditions of the central state. The festival has been organised in the memory of 1857 revolutionaries from the region, Shaheed Veernaryan Singh on his martyrdom day.
