IRNSS-1H is the 8th satellite in the IRNSS constellation and was suppose to replace the the functions of India’s first navigation satellite INRSS-1A after its three rubidium atomic clocks on board stopped functioning.

• IRNSS stands for Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System.
• It is an independent regional system developed by India on part with the US based GPS, Russia based Glonass and Europe based Galileo.

Service offered by IRNSS include terrestrial and marine navigation, disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management and visual and voice navigation for drivers.
