NABARD becomes the first Indian Organisation to get Direct Access Entity status of the Green Climate Fund.

• The Green Climate Fund was set up under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to assist developing countries in adaptation and mitigation practices to counter climate change.
• It was formally set up as part of the Durban Platform where it was decided to raise $100 billion a year by 2020.
• The fund is maintained in South Korea.
