Academy Awards: Also known as Oscars, 89th Academy Awards, were given this week. The best picture award was given to Moonlight, Best Actress to Emma Stone from La La Land, Best Actor to Casey Affleck from Manchester by the Sea and Best Director to Damien Chazelle from La La Land. There are 24 categories in which Academy Awards are given. It is given annually by AMPAS – Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. They were first given in 1929 and the winners are provided a copy of statuette officially called Academy Award of Merit.
