Irrawaddy Dolphins are oceanic dolphins that lives in brackish water near coasts, river mouths and in estuaries in South and Southeast Asia.
The dolphins have IUCN Status as VU and were recently in news as Odisha government conducted a census to count their population in Odisha state which turns out to be 181. These dolphins are found in three places that includes Chilika Lake, Bhitarkanika and Bhadrak Wildlife Sanctuary.
