Padma Awards 2017: In total 89 names were announced for the Padma Awards 2017 that includes 7 Padma Vibhushan, 7 Padma Bhushan and 75 Padha Shri winners. The winners for Padma Vibhushan are KJ Yesudas, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Sharad Pawar, Murli Manohar Joshi, Prof. Udipi Ramachandra Rao, Sunder Lal Patwa and PA Sangma. Sunder Lal Patwa and PA Sangma have been awarded the awards posthumously.
Ashok Chakra: It is the highest peacetime gallantry award of India. This year Ashok Chakra has been awarded to Havaldar Hangpan Dada.
