China open Super Series: 21-year-old PV Sindhu has claimed the biggest title of her career with an amazing victory of the $700,000 China Open Super Series Premier in Fuzhou. She beat Sun Yu of China by 21-11, 17-21, 21-11 in the final. She is the second Indian women to clinch China open after Saina Nehwal.

ATP World Tour Finals: Britain's Andy Murray beat five-time champion Novak Djokovic to win his first ATP World Tour Finals title and end 2016 as the world number one.

Indonesia Open: Gaganjeet Bhullar of India won the $300,000 BANK BRI-JCB Indonesia Open Golf for the second time in his career after closing with a four-under-par 68. Bhullar also won the event in 2013. Jeev Milkha Singh of India, a two-time Asian Tour number one, threatened briefly before settling for tied 2nd place, after making bogey on the 17th hole to finish on 72.
